Developers boast about MetaTrader 5's performance and speed, but how can a trader or amateur programmer verify these claims? Writing code to test and compare the performance of MetaTrader 4 and 5 seems like a logical step.
After some thought, I decided to create a tester script to evaluate the PC's performance and that of the MetaTrader 4 and 5 terminals. The script combines various tests into a single script, utilizing both procedural and OOP programming paradigms. It includes tests for graphical object rendering, displacement, and deletion, as well as handling the CCanvas class and measuring the CopyRates function's speed when copying 1,000,000 minute bars. In total, there are 45 tests.
This script can also be used to verify the performance claims of VPS and VDS hosters.
I invite you to test your PC using my script. I ran the test on my PC with maximum performance and an empty startup. The script runs tests sequentially, creating and deleting necessary elements, and finally presents a results table.
