To avoid triggering the expert advisor during flat market conditions, a volatility indicator with three states is employed. The level of this indicator determines the presence of sufficient trend strength to initiate a position. Deal filtering is controlled by an input parameter of the expert advisor.
Deal filtering is applied only at the entry point, while exits are not filtered.
Ensure that the compiled files ef_distance.ex5 and flat-trend.ex4 are placed in the terminal_data_folder\mql5\indicators directory.
The Exp EF Distance expert advisor is a variation without the volatility indicator.
The default input parameters were used for the tests presented below, and stop loss and take profit were not employed.
