Traces the output of indicators by buffer. The output can be adjusted on the chart by moving the vertical line left or right.
This utility is particularly useful for tracing the output of custom indicators, especially arrow indicators where the exact index empty value might not be known.
Usage
The indicator has two parameters: the name of the indicator to trace, and the number of buffers to analyze. Ensure the referenced indicator is installed in your terminal.
For example, as illustrated, the ind_tracer is applied to the Bollinger Bands indicator. The starting position of the vertical line is set to 1, corresponding to the last formed bar. Adjusting the line's position left or right will alter the referenced bar and consequently, its output.
Arrow indicators, such as Fractals, may not always generate a visible signal. In such cases, the indicator might set its buffers to zero to hide them on the chart.
However, this behavior is not universal. Some indicators might utilize the `empty_value` or other index values as defined by the `setindexemptyvalue()` function.
Limitations
- Custom indicators only: For standard indicators, please refer to their respective implementations in the codebase.
- A maximum of one instance of ind_tracer can be used on any given chart.
- Functionality is limited to the default parameter values of any indicator.
