Getting Started

1. Compile the source code. Attach the Expert Advisor (EA) to a new, empty standard chart. Ensure there are no other indicators or drawing objects on the chart. This tool is not intended for use with the Strategy Tester.

2. Configure the historical start time, duration, and brick size. The brick size is measured in price units (e.g., a brick size of 2.0 signifies a price movement of 2.0).

3. Click LOAD, then PLAY or NEXT BRICK to begin the simulation.

4. Initiate a BUY or SELL virtual trade, then advance the replay to simulate the entry execution.

5. Use the END button to conclude the current trading session. Press NEW to start a new session. The EXPORT function saves a summary of the current session.

When the start time is set to zero, the trainer automatically selects 09:00 on the previous business day, according to the broker's server time. The default session duration is six hours. The selected historical period must be entirely available in your broker's tick history.

The control panel displays key performance metrics, including balance, equity, maximum drawdown, the number of closed trades, win rate, profit factor, and results expressed in R (Risk). Trade data and session summaries are stored in CSV files within the MQL5/Files/GDS_Renko_Trainer directory.

Scope and Limitations

This trainer operates on a single symbol, allows for one virtual position at a time, and uses a forward-only replay mechanism. It does not require any DLLs, custom symbols, or external indicators. No actual trading orders are generated, and the AutoTrading function does not need to be enabled.

The reported cash results are estimates based on the current contract specifications and conversion rates, which are fixed at the beginning of each session. The simulation does not account for historical currency conversions, swaps, margin requirements, liquidity fluctuations, or execution latency. Commission fees are user-configurable.

The END function values any open virtual position at the last available price quote and labels the exit point as SESSION_END. This version does not support session resumption or the adjustment of Stop Loss (SL) or Take Profit (TP) levels after placement.

Please be aware that historical trading results do not guarantee future performance and are not evidence of a persistent trading advantage.
