The RSI is a price-following oscillator that ranges between 0 and 100. A common technique for analyzing the RSI involves identifying divergences, where a security reaches a new high, but the RSI fails to surpass its previous high. This divergence suggests a potential reversal. When the RSI turns downward and falls below its most recent trough, it has completed a "failure swing." The failure swing is considered confirmation of an impending reversal.
