Swing High Low identifies market-structure pivots directly on your chart. The strength of the swings is determined by the LeftBars and RightBars inputs, utilizing the same pivot logic found in TradingView's pivothigh and pivotlow functions.
This indicator is non-repainting. A swing is only confirmed after RightBars candles have closed to its right, ensuring that an arrow never moves or disappears once it appears. This reliability makes it ideal for analyzing market structure and for drawing support and resistance trendlines by connecting the confirmed swing points.
Upon confirmation of each new swing, the indicator can send a push notification to your MetaTrader mobile app and/or an email alert. Each confirmed swing is reported only once.
Inputs:
LeftBars - Defines the number of bars required to the left of a pivot. A higher value results in fewer, stronger swings.
RightBars - Defines the number of bars required to the right for confirmation. This also sets the confirmation delay.
InpArrowHigh / InpArrowLow - Wingdings arrow codes for customization.
InpPush - Enable or disable push notifications for new swings (default: true).
InpEmail - Enable or disable email alerts for new swings (default: false).
Enabling Push Notifications:
1. Open the MetaTrader 5 mobile app: Navigate to Settings → Messages and copy your MetaQuotes ID.
2. On the PC terminal: Go to Tools → Options → Notifications. Tick 'Enable Push Notifications', paste your MetaQuotes ID, and click OK.
3. Set the indicator input InpPush to true.
Enabling Email Alerts:
1. On the PC terminal: Go to Tools → Options → Email. Tick 'Enable'.
2. Fill in your SMTP server, login, and email address.
3. Click the 'Test' button to verify settings.
4. Set the indicator input InpEmail to true.
To disable all alerts, set both InpPush and InpEmail to false. The pivot arrows will continue to be displayed on the chart.
