1. Sending Instant Messages
The function includes several tests before sending an instant message:
- The user name cannot be empty or start with a number.
- The specified user must be in the contact list.
- The message cannot be empty.
- The recipient's network status must match the specified value. Network status constants can be combined using bit-by-bit addition, e.g., status_online | status_away.
- The maximum length of an instant message is ~8000 ANSI symbols or ~4000 Unicode symbols.
2. Sending SMS Messages
Note: This service is fee-based.
Before sending an SMS, the following tests are performed:
- The telephone number must be in international format: + [country code] [city or network code] [telephone number].
- The string length of the telephone number must be at least 7 symbols, starting with a '+' sign.
- The text message cannot be empty.
- Sending an SMS to a non-existent number will incur a charge, which will be refunded shortly after as the message was not delivered.
- The SMS message limit is 116 ANSI symbols or 58 Unicode symbols.
