Description & Settings
Related: ticks on chart indicator - another powerful script for MetaTrader 4 traders.
This script enables the preview of indicator behavior on a real chart from a specified point, minimizing computational resources. It supports manual control over the shift point and automatic mode with tick generation delay. Also recommended: convert real tick data to strategy tester fxt files - similar script with strong performance on MetaTrader 4.
The script facilitates the configuration of two shift parameters and the number of calculated data for indicators, Expert Advisors (EAs), or other scripts via global variables. It can automatically iterate over the data range from the initial bar to the zero bar with a delay.
An example of a linear regression indicator is provided, demonstrating its ability to perform calculations independently or in conjunction with the script. When used together, the required parameters for indicator calculation (shift and data count) are stored in global variables (ce_shift and ce_count).
The script offers manual and automatic management modes, controlled by the _emulated global variable:
- _emulated=0: Manual mode
- _emulated=1: Automatic mode
In automatic mode, once the object reaches the zero bar, the script switches to manual control. The _pausecount global variable sets the delay for the next indicator run, and _calculated indicates the indicator's readiness for the next calculation. Upon completion, the indicator sets _calculated=true.
The script ensures that the linear regression object remains within the chart screen, automatically adjusting the chart to display the selected range. It concludes by deleting all linear regression objects and seeking confirmation for unloading.
Note: This script is inspired by Oleg Poddubny's mover.mq4.
