Calculating the Stochastic Oscillator:

%k = 100(c - l(period))/(h(period) - l(period))

Key components:

- c: The latest closing price.

- l(period): The lowest price over the defined period.

- h(period): The highest price within the same period.

- %k: The current market rate for the currency pair.

- %d: The moving average of %k over a specified signal period.

The underlying principle of this indicator is that in an upward-trending market, prices tend to close near the high, while in a downward-trending market, prices close near the low. Trading signals are generated when %k crosses its three-period moving average, known as %d.
