The indicator calculates the deviation of the price from its smoothed value and presents this deviation as a percentage of the average.

Therefore, if the KRI values remain consistently positive or negative for an extended period without switching, it can be utilized as a trend indicator.
Trading signals are generated when the indicator values cross above +1 (overbought area) or below -1 (oversold area) and subsequently reverse back towards the middle. An additional signal confirmation can be a bullish divergence or a bearish convergence between the indicator and the price.
