This Expert Advisor (EA) is designed to address the challenge of creating hedged positions in MetaTrader 5, which does not natively support multi-directional positions.Also recommended: my system - similar expert with strong performance on MetaTrader 5.
The EA opens two component positions to create a synthesized hedge symbol. For instance, to create a synthetic long position on EURUSD, the EA will buy EURGBP and sell GBPUD with adjusted lots.
Currently, 12 symbols are available for synthesis, including AUDJPY. However, users can create custom synthesized symbols if they have the necessary components. For example, with XAUUSD and USDJPY, XAUJPY can be synthesized.
It's important to note that this approach typically incurs double the spread cost, impacting the deposit. In certain scenarios, it may be more advantageous than trading the actual symbol, as illustrated in the image below.
This tool is implemented as an EA due to the author's current inability to create a dialog box from a script. The following files are provided:
